Mrs President explores the turbulent life of Mary Todd Lincoln, the wife of Abraham Lincoln, through personal tragedy, the assassination of her husband, and her struggle to redefine her legacy. Directed by Bronagh Lagan and written by John Ransom Phillips, the play delves into themes of power, identity, female agency, and resilience. Featuring evocative designs by Gregor Donnelly, Derek Anderson, Sonum Batra, and Matt Powell, this production offers an intimate and politically charged portrait of one of America’s most misunderstood First Ladies.
