Created by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown reimagines the ancient myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone through a distinctive blend of folk, blues, jazz and contemporary music. Since its Broadway premiere, the show has become one of the biggest musical theatre success stories of recent years, winning eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and a Grammy Award for its cast recording.
